If you’ve ever met my husband, you probably know that he devours chips & salsa. I’m talking, he acts like he’s never seen food before. And if you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting him, you probably shouldn’t when chips & salsa are involved. Otherwise, you probably wouldn’t like him due to the massive inhalation of the chips you were probably planning to eat.
That being said, it was a marriage-must that I come up with a delicious salsa recipe. After much Pinterest searching and taste-testing, I’ve come up with one that is husband-approved and probably the best salsa you’ll ever have. That’s as unbiased as I can be.
|| Ingredients ||
1 28-oz can of whole peeled tomatoes
1/4 yellow onion
4 oz diced jalapeno (canned or jarred – I prefer jarred and pickled)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp lime juice
3-4 sprigs of fresh cilantro (but if you don’t want to buy a massive amount of cilantro because it will all go to waste, then just use 1 tsp of this stuff from Target)
|| Directions ||
1. Open the can of tomatoes. Pour out extra juices and add the tomatoes to your blender.
2. Roughly chop the onion and place in the blender along with the jalapenos.
3. Add lime juice, cilantro, and all seasonings to the blender.
4. Pulse the blender until your desired chunkiness is achieved.
