So we’re fiiiiinally (kind of) having some fall weather here in Orange County, meaning it’s time for me to start busting out all of my fall scarves. If you’re even somewhat active on social media, then I’m sure that you’ve seen how popular blanket scarves are. But I’ll be honest – sometimes they’re a little pesky because of how big they are and I’ve struggled with how to style them. So I’ve played around a little bit with mine and have come up with this “How To Tie a Blanket Scarf” post that includes 3 fun ways for you!
Scroll through these photos to find your favorite way to style a blanket scarf, follow the simple steps, and you’ll be right on-trend for the season!

|| STYLE 1 ||
STEP 1 || Begin with your large, square blanket scarf.
STEP 2 || Fold it so that the top right corner meets the bottom left corner to create a giant triangle.
STEP 3 || Take your triangle scarf…
…and drape it over your shoulders
STEP 4 || Twist the ends behind your head so that the right end is now in your left hand and vice versa.
STEP 5 || Pull those ends down towards your hips so that the ends are about the same length as the draped front triangle (referred to as “front triangle” from now on!).
I like my ends pulled down a little more to make them a bit longer than the front triangle.
|| STYLE 2 ||
REPEAT STEPS 1-4
STEP 5 || Take the two ends and pull them forward.
STEP 6 || Tie the two ends together.
STEP 7 || In order to cover the tied ends, you’ll need to grab the front triangle that’s under the tied ends…
…and pull it upwards towards your face (so that it’ll eventually cover the tied ends).
STEP 8 || Lay the front triangle over the tied ends so that they’re fully covered.
|| STYLE 3 ||
REPEAT STEPS 1-4
STEP 5 || Take the right end of the scarf…
…and thread it underneath the front triangle.
STEP 6 || Take the left end of the scarf…
…and thread that underneath the front triangle.
It should look like this with the two ends threaded underneath the front triangle.
STEP 7 || Tie those two ends together so that they remain visible over the front triangle.
