I never used to be a reader, but over the past couple of years, it’s become something that I enjoy very much! I read mainly for two different areas of my life: Book club and church deaconship/spiritual growth.

After moving from Texas to California, I was invited to one of my friend’s book club get togethers. I wasn’t so sure about it at first since I wasn’t a huge reader at the time, but our book club reminded me how fun reading can be! We meet every couple of months or so and usually focus on thrillers (our fav!) or books that bring up sweet emotions. Basically, if it’s on Lauren Conrad’s or Reese Witherspoon’s book club list, we’re all over it! Below are some of our most recent reads:

Jay and I are both deacons at our church in Orange County, and with that, it’s important that we’re constantly learning, growing, and better understanding God. All of the women deacons are led by our pastor’s wife through a book every couple of months. We cover different areas such as relationships, prayer, defending our faith, understanding our husbands, and leadership. These past 2 years have been the biggest years of growth for me spiritually, and a lot of that is owed to diligence in reading and finding encouragement there.
