We’re sharing our super helpful (and kinda goofy) road trip tips in this week’s video!
Last weekend, we road tripped to Palm Springs for our anniversary getaway (which, by the way, was SO much fun!). While road tripping, we thought we’d make a fun little video sharing the ways we prep for trips and how we have fun and pass the time!
Love our how-to videos? Be sure to check out another silly one: How To Be Californian or a more serious one: How To Use Social Media in a Positive Way!
|| Road Trip Tips – Video ||
Obviously, I’d love for you to watch the video for the full-length version of these tips, but here’s a brief summary of what we shared:
|| How To Road Trip – Tips from Jay & Erin ||
Tip #1: Buy snacks || What’s a road trip without all of those unhealthy snacks to munch on? Jay shared his go-to snacks for road trips (which, ew – he’s like a teenager) and I talked about what I can’t live without (hint: anything with salt).
Tip #2: Play games || Having fun playing games seriously helps to pass the time! Watch the video to see our attempts at the popular car games of “I Spy” and “The License Plate Game”. Fair warning: We don’t know what we’re doing while playing those. But on a more serious note, there are tons of car games out there, so you could definitely search Pinterest for car games and find tons of great ideas!
Tip #3: Find legitimate places to eat || When I think of road trips, I think of eating crazy unhealthy things (see Tip #1 regarding snacks). While you’re probably not going to find all of your fresh, organic, farmer’s market items that make you feel healthy, it’s definitely possible to seek out healthier food options and plan ahead so you don’t feel absolutely terrible after your trip. Sorry Long John Silver’s, but if there’s a healthier option in the foreseeable future, the Howards will be drivin’ right past ya.
Tip #4: Listen to something you both enjoy || As we shared in the video, we both have our listening/music preferences (boring [Jay] vs. amazing [Erin]). But if one of us only listened to the things we enjoy, then that leaves the other person out and they’ll be bored – and you don’t want that. SO, find something you both love listening to! Mine & Jay’s bonding music may surprise you…
Unofficial Tip #5ish: Sleep || When all else fails and the time doesn’t go by fast enough, just sleep. This obviously only applies to the passenger, so the driver may or may not be a fan of this one (winking face).
What other road trip tips do you guys have? We have lots of trips coming up, so we’d love to hear your ideas in the comments!
