Last week I shared Part 1 of my Spring Tips, and this week I want to continue giving you ideas for switching your wardrobe over from winter to spring! Remember, don’t overwhelm yourself and try to do everything at once because, speaking from experience, you’ll probably end up getting frustrated and feeling like you need to throw away all of your clothes and completely start over with a new closet. And you’ll see that’s just not true with these simple spring fashion tips!
While snagging a few new items for your spring wardrobe is a good idea, it’s definitely doable to gradually update your clothes by choosing one or two of these tips at a time to conquer. And more good news for you: I’m definitely a bargain shopper, so all of my fashion finds are totally affordable!
|| Spring Fashion Tips, Part 2 ||
1 || Add some dresses to your closet
Yes, technically dresses can be worn year-round. But if there’s ever a time for you to invest in a new dress or two, it’s spring! The weather is warming up and it’s a perfect time to start exposing those legs to some sunlight. Dresses are also super breezy, and I guarantee you’ll appreciate the breezy-ness of your outfit throughout spring and summer!
2 || Lighten up your main clothing pieces
One of the simplest ways to start dressing for spring is to change up the colors you wear. And this one goes hand-in-hand with my first tip because if you’re going to be investing in a new dress for the season, then you might as well choose a lighter color to embrace the lighter colors of spring. I like to think of the fall/winter blacks and grays we wear are like a hibernation for fun wardrobe colors, and then spring comes around and it’s time to brighten up your outfits! The white dress I’m featuring in this post is a great light piece if you’re looking… just sayin’ 🙂
3 || Hats
To me, cute hats scream spring and summer fashion. They’re best worn when it’s sunny outside (because, isn’t that the points of hats after all?), and um, hello, that sun starts coming out in spring! Be on the lookout for panama hats, fedoras, floppy hats, and boater hats!
4 || Open-toe shoes
Part 1 of my tips mentioned wearing sandals, so yes, it’s kind of the same, but that shows you how important this one is! As much as I’d like to wear my over-the-knee boots year-round, that’s just not going to happen. So retire your boots and some of those closed-toe shoes and invest in some open-toe ones. When your toes are exposed, it tells the world that you’re ready to embrace the warmer weather of spring!
…Now here’s some fun spring fashion inspiration for you and proof that my tips can help you create a spring-y outfit!
