Festival season is right around the corner, and along with all the music and fun comes some great festival style. Today I’m sharing my simple festival style guide for achieving a great festival fashion, even if you’re not planning on going to any of them! (We’re not, but it’s still fun to embrace the season’s trends!)
Below, I’m listing 5 essentials for achieving your festival look – I made them as basic as possible because there’s no need to stress over what to wear or how to “fit in”. If you’ve got these things goin’ on, then you’ll be good to go!

1 || Flowy dresses
To me, festival style screams flowy & flirty dresses! There is, of course, the option to dress in bralettes and shorts, but I think dresses are a great way to achieve your festival look in a more tasteful way!

2 || Lace-up sandals & gladiator sandals
If you see any pictures of people attending festivals, chances are, you’re going to see some lace-ups or gladiators. Even though I’m not a huge fan of gladiators all the time, they truly are a fun shoe that matches the fun atmosphere! But if you’re still not sold on them, then that’s okay because you can get some great lace-ups and still achieve the same look without committing to the boldness of the gladiator.

3 || Hats
Because most festivals are outdoors and (hopefully) sunny, hats are always a great idea! They add instant style and up your cool points in my book.
Here are a few of my favorite hats:
4 || Fringe bags
What’s festival season without some fringe? Sure, you can wear it via clothing, but I’m currently loving fringe bags, so I think that a perfect way to tie in this must-have style!
Scroll through my top fringe bag picks (I chose all crossbody bags & backpacks because they’re easy to carry around and leave your hands free to do other things!):
5 || Braids
Your festival look isn’t complete without braids, in my opinion. To achieve this festival style, I think we should all channel our inner hippie, and hippie equals braids! I don’t have any pictures to go along with this, but you can always search through the best search engine ever: Pinterest! Here are some recommendations of braids to look up:
- Side french braids
- Waterfall braids
- Fishtail side braids
- Milkmaid braids
- Or just wearing your hair down with a few small braids throughout
I may be a little biased, but I believe if you follow that simple style formula, you’ll be festival ready in no time!
Would you guys add anything to my festival style guide? Let me know in the comments!
