For this week’s Friday Favorites, I’m talking all about my favorite trend this season: the off the shoulder trend!
I know there are mixed opinions about this trend, but let me give my two cents about it.
|| Why I Love the Off the Shoulder Trend ||
1|| I truly believe women with any body type can rock the off the shoulder trend.
Unlike certain trends that are created for a specific body type, the off the shoulder trend works with all body types. Here’s what I mean: Bodycon dresses are created for women that are comfortable showing off their entire figure, tunics are created for women that have longer legs (because they make us shorties look even shorter), etc. But the off the shoulder trend isn’t limited to a certain body type. If you’ve got narrow shoulders, great. If your shoulders are more broad, awesome. You can rock this trend either way!
2 || It’s an easy way to add some sass & sexiness without baring too much.
Don’t love your legs? Don’t want to wear low-cut tops that show your chest? No problem. The off the shoulder trend allows you to add a touch of sexy to your style without going too far.
3 || The trend appeals to women with different tastes and styles.
Whether you’re more boho/hippie, classic, feminine/flirty, or even edgy, there’s an off the shoulder option that works for you. Just shop around a little (or shop below where I’ve listed multiple options!) and you’ll be sure to find something that fits your style.
4 || It’s fun to accessorize!
I’m all about accessorizing these days. And I’m not lying when I say that I get SO excited when I wear an off the shoulder top or dress because of the accessorizing that goes along with it. I love a good statement earring (did you catch my favorite statement earrings post recently?), and these earrings really pop with anything that’s off the shoulder.
Another great option would be a fun statement necklace. Your neckline is basically like an blank canvas with this trend, so no matter what necklace you go with, it’ll surely stand out (in a fantastic way!). And depending on how busy the dress or top is, a long pendant necklace could also be great too. Oh, the possibilities!

Below, I’ve compiled some of my favorite off the shoulder tops and dresses. I’ve already purchased FOUR of these… Is that too much?! (I’m going to say no!)
